My name is Rhys Prosser and I joined the army straight from school when I was 16.
If you join at 16, you go full-time to the Army College, Harrogate, Yorkshire. I get paid to be there and have made many life- long friends, as well as building my confidence and improving discipline. These people have helped me and I have helped them and couldn’t ask for better comrades. It is a fantastic place!
Although I did not go to Army Cadets when I was at school, I would recommend it. This is because it gives a very good idea of what army life is like. It will also show the Army that you have the skills and experience that they are looking for.
After 2 and a half years of being in the army I have met so many people from all over the world.
It is a career that will continue to take me across the world, serving my country and build skills for life. What more could I ask for?
If I had to choose a career, it would be to serve in the Army
