The Government believes that the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG), which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Each school receives an allocation of funding based upon the proportion of students meeting the disadvantaged background criteria as set by the Government. Schools are able to assess and decide what additional provision should be made for the individual children within their responsibility.
The Department for Education issues guidelines for how to allocate the funding.
Please see the Pupil Premium Strategy Statement to find out how we are using Pupil Premium in 2023/24.
