Pupil Premium and Catch-up Provision
Pupil Premium Grant
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG), which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Each school receives an allocation of funding based upon the proportion of students meeting the disadvantaged background criteria as set by the Government. Schools are able to assess and decide what additional provision should be made for the individual children within their responsibility.
There are guidelines for how to allocate the funding issued by the Department for Education, which can be accessed via the link.
Please see the related documents to find out how Ludlow CE School used Pupil Premium in 2018/19, and is utilising Pupil Premium in 2019/20. We are also trialling the Department for Education's suggested reporting form. Do, please let us have any feedback regarding your preference for which document you find to be more accessible.
Year 7 literacy and numeracy Catch-Up Premium
The literacy and numeracy Catch-Up Premium gives state-funded schools additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of Key Stage 2. It is at the school’s discretion how and where to use this funding to help students improve in these areas.
